The workarounds don't really work. The arm's-length selfie distorts everything and misses the room. Handing your phone to someone gets you one blurry frame of you mid-blink. The photoshoot is lovely and staged and a few hundred dollars, twice a year — and it isn't Tuesday morning on the kitchen floor. The moments you most want to be in are exactly the ones where you're the only one there to take the picture.

We combine your two real photos

Both photos are real, and you keep both. The combining is AI-assisted — and every combined image says so — but nothing is invented: same room, same light, same tired smile. We put you into the moment you were already in.

It's two real photos of one real moment, combined. You always see both originals, and every combined image is clearly disclosed as AI-assisted. What we will never do is generate a moment that didn't happen. And it should look like you — the messy bun, the postpartum body, the actual Tuesday — not an idealized AI stranger.

Privacy, in specifics

Where your baby's photos go — the mechanism, not a vibe.

Parents' biggest fear about AI photo apps is the right fear: where do the photos go, who keeps them, what trains on them. We built Baby Bothie because that fear is ours too. Here is exactly how it works.

On-device library · Named providers · No training · Honest retention

Your library lives on your iPhone

Every photo you capture and every combined image is stored only on your device — encrypted at rest, excluded from cloud backups, never in a cloud library of ours. Our servers keep no copies of your images.

Named providers, always

To combine your two photos, they pass — encrypted, held only in our server's memory — to an AI image provider. We name every provider before you consent, in the app and in our privacy policy. At launch: Google's Gemini image models on the paid API. No unnamed "trusted partners," ever.

No training on your photos

Google's paid API terms state your photos are not used to train its models — and we never train models on them either. Any additional provider is switched on only after its retention and no-training terms are verified in writing, and the in-app consent screen always shows exactly who is enabled.

Honest retention — the real number

We only say "deleted after processing" where we can prove it. Today, Google's abuse-monitoring systems can retain submitted photos for up to 55 days before deletion (not used for training). We're pursuing zero-data-retention approvals with every provider; until one is granted and verified, the app shows you the real window instead of a comfortable one.

Only a parent can use it

Before anything is sent anywhere, you confirm you're 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of every child in the photo. Children never use Baby Bothie, and we never collect data from children.

Deletion that means it

Delete your account with one flow in the app: data on our servers is removed within 24 hours and analytics within 30 days. We also tell you plainly what deletion can't reach — copies you saved to Apple Photos, and the providers' limited safety-retention windows above.

What we never do: no ads · no selling or sharing your data · no tracking you across apps · no face-recognition databases.
